Business Services
7th April 2021

Businesses forced to close because of recent COVID-19 restrictions are being urged to apply for a Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) as soon as possible, as the closing date for applications is fast approaching.

The deadline for new LRSG applications relating to the period 16 February 2021 to 5 April 2021 is 31 May. Any business that has previously been awarded an LRSG will automatically be paid and does not need to contact their local council.

In the recent Budget, Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced that the LRSG will be replaced by the Restart Grant scheme from 5 April 2021. The new grant is worth up to £6,000 for non-essential retail, and up to £18,000 for hospitality businesses such as personal care, pubs, leisure and hotels. As with previous grants, the amount paid to eligible businesses under the Restart Grant scheme is dependent on rateable value.

To check eligibility and apply for either grant, please visit your local council’s website. In Wiltshire, the schemes are administered by Wiltshire Council.
